MENS TOURNAMENT 

5v5 adapted Full court games will be played in a tournament style, and the structure may be adjusted depending on the number of teams entered.

 
This tournament allows players that are not affiliated with other teams or clubs to enter. However, all participants are be required to affiliate to Basketball England before taking part. Players already affiliated to BE via their own home clubs don't need to pay for a new affiliation but they will need to log in to the BE membership portal to affiliate to the Community Basketball Initiative CA3371.

 

We have created a Code of Conduct to preserve our participant's quality of experience at any events provided by the CBI. This tournament is for non-national league players.

 

Individuals can enter by contacting us on info@communitybasksketball.org. and will be added into a team.

Already made up teams will need a lead contact who will be responsible for payment and players following the code of conduct.

AGE GROUPS AND REGISTRATION CRITERIA

AGE GROUPS

Adults.

*Players aged 15-17 are allowed to take part in the adults competition provided they complete and return the U18s waiver before play.

 

RESTRICTIONS

Players affiliated to National League Conference and Premier are not allowed. 

 

CAN I REGISTER AS INDIVIDUAL?

Yes, If you are an individual looking for a team, please contact us and we will do our best to assign you to a team. You will need to register your personal details and make sure you are BE affiliated. The cost to enter as an individual is £10.

CAN I REGISTER AS PART OF A TEAM?

All players are required to complete the player registration form or have a team leader / coach that will ensure to send us all players registration details, including email and telephone numbers. Cost for a team entry of maximum 10 players is £64

​

TEAM LEADERS/COACHES

Team leaders/coaches are responsible for their teams. This includes ensuring team payment is done in time, have all players registered correctly, arrival on time, manage the team during games, communicating with the tournament manager and ensuring their players follow the code of conduct. Finally, please tell us if there are any medical conditions we should be aware of and of any restrictions in filming and photography.

ELIGIBILITY

Maximum of 8 teams. 

National League players or above are not allowed. 

Individual registrations will be added to a team of a minimum of 6 players. 

​

TOURNAMENTS

Example: If we have 6 or 8 teams registered, we will play a round robin tournament and one 3rd place game and one final game. If we have an uneven number of teams we may have to adapt games and you may not be able to play against every other team. 

 

RULES

​

 

BASIC GAME RULES (THESE SERVE AS GUIDANCE BUT CAN BE ADAPTED ON THE DAY IF APPROPRIATE)

Adapted FIBA 5v5 rules will apply.

In order to save time we will play in one direction only. I.e. no half time. Coin toss will offer the team to chose direction.

Teams will be allowed 1 x 30sec time out.

Players will foul out at 4 fouls. Team fouls after the 6th foul.

No stopping the clock at any time except when requested by the referee at the last minute of the game.

There will be 1 x referee per game. Referees may not be level 2 qualified referees but they will at least be level 2 qualified coaches with experience.

Substitutions will be done following official FIBA rules. i.e. the coach/leader will ask the table for subs which will alert the referee.
