Welcome to the Community Basketball Initiative
What is the CBI?
The CBI was created in April 2014 as a community group to develop basketball playing, coaching and officiating opportunities in Brighton. We work mainly in recognised ares of deprivation where there is a clear demand. We work in partnership with dozens of local groups to maximise participation. In early 2020 we became a Community Interest Company.
Our work
1 Funded community projects.
Over the years we have delivered dozens of community projects, mainly in the East Brighton area. Projects involved developing new local sustainable basketball sessions.
2 Creation of sustainable clubs.
The CBI has created and supported numerous clubs and basketball initiatives in the Brighton area. We are proud to say that some of these clubs are still running since 2014.
3 Coach development and work placement opportunities.
We regularly official Basketball England Level 1 and Level 2 coaching courses.
