WHAT IS AN OPEN RUN?
Open runs are an opportunity to play 5v5 basketball with coaches on hand to assist if necessary. Whether you are part of a team or not, open runs allow players to just come in and play games as opposed to training or official games. At our Open Run, our managers and coaches will organise the games. There are no referees, but we set out in our code of conduct (Please read our Code of Conduct) the importance of participating respectfully. Just register online, get added to your group's WhatsApp and let us know when you are coming. The cost is £7 pp paid cash or card on the day.
WHAT ARE PRIMARY OPEN TOURNAMENTS?
Our Primary Open Tournaments is an opportunity for primary age kids (aged 7-11) to play 5v5 games, with a referee, in a tournament environment. Through this project, we want more players, more often to enjoy the game of basketball. Any individual player willing to play the game is welcome to join. Just register below or contact us. On the day we will make up teams of 5-7 players and runa games in a tournament style to encourage 5v5 playing experience. Players don't need to be in the league or a club or even a school to join and play 5v5 games at our Primary Open Tournaments. Our coaches and managers will be on hand to help with players' needs on the day and will encourage as much playing time as possible.
If you are a club or a group of 5 or more kids and would like to enter as a team please register in advance below or email us at info@communitybasketball.org.
*Remember the Community Basketball Initiative Open Run and Tournaments are designed to create a positive basketball community environment for all ages and offer a chance for people of all abilities to play basketball. Please read our Code of Conduct.
